Breakfast Briefing in the European Parliament

On 27th June 2013 the European Construction Forum (ECF) had a Breakfast Briefing in the European Parliament which was hosted by Reinhard Bütikofer, MEP (see picture).

Representatives of the members of the ECF (including EAPA as being member of the EFC)

had a one hour of discussion regarding the Opinion of the European Economic and Social Committee (EECE) on the Communication from the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council - “Strategy for the sustainable competitiveness of the construction sector and its enterprises” (CCMI/106) and a few corresponding topics.

The briefing showed the need of support from our associations for MEPs and the DG.

During the discussion it was also stressed that infrastructure investments are very important for the economy and that the infrastructure needs maintenance.  Bütikofer was aware of that knowing the situation in Germany.
